About a week before, a card quietly opens and the team gets asked to write something. The person it's for sees none of it. On the morning of the day it lands in their inbox and opens as a reveal — one message at a time, in their own timezone — and if you've connected Slack or Basecamp, the celebration shows up there too.
Someone tells it once. People can add their own birthday and start date from their profile, or you can fill them in on the People page. The moment a date lands, any card that's already due opens on its own — and after that it just keeps coming round every year without anyone re-entering anything.
